Socialism, Marxism, either one works. If this country elects Obama then we have indeed lost our Republic. The death of these United States has been slowly coming to pass but this will finally do us in. God forgive us for ruining what you gave our founding fathers.

Pelosi: ‘With Skyrocketing Gas Prices, Americans Can No Longer Afford Rubber Stamp Congress’
Monday, April 24, 2006
Washington, D.C. – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on President Bush’s, Speaker Hastert’s, and the Republican Congress’ empty rhetoric on gas prices. Key facts on the Majority's failure to address gas prices follows Pelosi’s statement.
With skyrocketing gas prices, it is clear that the American people can no longer afford the Republican Rubber Stamp Congress and its failure to stand up to Republican big oil and gas company cronies. Americans this week are paying $2.91 a gallon on average for regular gasoline – 33 cents higher than last month, and double the price than when President Bush first came to office.
“With record gas prices, record CEO pay packages, and record oil company profits, Speaker Hastert and the Majority Congress continue to give the American people empty rhetoric rather than join Democrats who are working to lower gas prices now.
“Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.”
So what happened to the Democrats "commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices"? The price of gas has nearly doubled since they took over Congress in 2006.
How come we never hear the main stream press ever asking Pelosi or any of the other Democrats about their plan?
With the election coming up you'd think the Republicans would be bringing this up every change they get. Anyone who bought the Dems line in 2006 can contact me I have some oceanfront property in Arizona I'll sell you.
If Obama gets in and gets his windfall profits tax passed it'll get even worse, and Mccain with his "Cap and Trade" plan isn't any better.
Congress and the tree huggers are the one's preventing us from using our own natural resources, no offshore drilling, no drilling in ANWAR, no nuclear power plants, no hyrdoelectric dams, no drilling in the West, no new refineries, all being stopped by Congress. No wonder gas is over $4.00 a gallon.
Looks like we're screwed no matter who gets in.

Obamanation
I think Hillary would have been easier to beat. The American left is stupid. If we were ready to elect someone other than a white male to the presidency why couldn't it have been someone with conservative values? No, the obama following doesn't even care about his policies, or lack thereof. They only see him as someone young and different than the usual presidential candidate. He's a Marxist. Marxism is correctly but not exhaustively described as a variety of Socialism.
- a view of history according to which class struggle, the evolving conflict between classes with opposing interests, structures each historical period and drives historical change
- a belief that this dialectical historical process will ultimately result in a replacement of the current class structure of society with a system that manages society for the good of all, resulting in the dissolution of the class structure and its support (more often than not including the nation state)
He is an elitist.
- The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
- The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class.
- Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.
You know a person by the company they keep. Look at his wife, his preacher, his friends and business acquaintances. Haven't we seen enough to know Obama is wrong for America?
He is a typical leftist politician.
The left is ruining America from eco nuts and global warming BS to the desire for a nanny state where everything is given to them by the government.
Well guess what? Where do you think money for the government comes from? Hard working taxpayers. If Obama is elected I'm hoping for a labor strike like Poland had to oust their commie government.
God help us.

The Morning After
Imagine this. It's the end of a week long vacation from the news, no TV, no radio, no Internet. The sun is shining through the window on a calm and cool fall morning. The radio alarm I set last night goes off. The news is just coming on. I quickly hit the snooze button as I realize that yesterday was election day and it's now the morning after. My first thought is to unplug the alarm, roll over and go back to sleep but I know when I wake up again it will still be the morning after.
What if I hear the President of the United States of America is Hillary Clinton? Oh no! What if it is Barack Obama? Oh, please no! John McCain? Well...Damn.
Looking at it that way and really trying to put myself in that place and time I know I'd feel real fear if it were either of the first two and a mixture of relief and frustration if it is the latter of the three. The old "Lesser of Two Evils".
Thinking of it in this way is kind of like the old flip of the coin trick. If you're not sure what you really want, flip a coin. You'll know what you really wanted by the toss. You'll either be disappointed or relieved. Try it. I use it when I think I don't really care about a particular task or situation. The coin toss will tell me even slightly what I really think.
I don't want to vote for any of them. I even made up my mind I wouldn't vote at all. It's like living in an alternate universe. How did this election cycle go so wrong? Our other posts on here tell the story. I know why, I just keep hoping it's not true, not real but alas, it is.
I'm still struggling with what I will eventually do. I think a vote for McCain, as much as I loathe it, will at least be a vote against the Democrat nominee, whoever it ends up being.
Try this out on yourself. On the morning after, how are you going to feel? I hope this helps for those of you still out there struggling with me.

Too Far Gone
Sam and I had a conversation on the back porch this evening and I commented that I thought our country was now too far gone to ever come back to it's roots.
I figure that we are seeing the end of our republic, his children will be seeing the final demise and his grandchildren will be living under a totally different government.
Sam reminded me of Ben Franklin's quote at the close of the Constitutional convention when a woman asked, "Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?", Franklin answered, "A republic, if you can keep it."
It looks to us as though we cannot keep it. If we could rally the country with like minded folks who believe we should return to the government our forefathers put in place perhaps we could have another revolution. However, geographically we are too large, not to mention we have no leader. As Sam said, where are our Thomas Jeffersons and George Washingtons?
We have lost the will to rise up. Oh sure, a few have it but we cannot get organized. I'm not talking about the "right wing wackos" out there; I'm talking about law abiding, taxpaying average Americans who believe in a Constitutional Government. The right to vote was supposed to control who was in power but with a two party system, money is what makes a politician today. For evidence I submit the lousy bunch of candidates for president in this election cycle. Who wants any of them? They are all left leaning socialists, we have no one with real conservative constitutional values. We are indeed in a sad state of affairs.
Think of what we could do if we didn't support every third world hell hole, if we made able bodied people work rather than receive welfare, if we closed our borders to illegal aliens, if we quit importing workers from third world countries. Think of what we could do if we didn't have such high taxes, if government would just leave the market to regulate itself and the States to regulate themselves.
Certainly I'm not as eloquent as Sam and he could say it better but I understand this government has grown too big, too meddling and too powerful. We have a class society. The politicians are part of the ruling class. Workers must be kept down just enough to keep them working to pay for the ruling class, food prices kept down enough so we can feed our families, otherwise we would rise up. The answer isn't what the democrats offer, higher taxes and free health care, that's only a quicker road to ruin. What we need is less government intrusion and less taxes and regulation. A free market can correct itself if part of it isn't held up by the other part.
It's all such a rotten game and we are the losing players. The socialists and communist slanted left, yes, democrats of our country are ignorant of history and leading us down a path of no return. As of late the Republicans have only slowed the bleed but not much more as they are conservative "light".
There was a time when the poor in this country worked for what little they had, we didn't need illegal Mexicans to pick our lettuce, our nation's poor did that until FDR decided to give them a handout. Churches used to take care of our unfortunate people, now they support illegal immigration and importation of third world immigrants. There was a time when if you wanted to immigrate here you had to show you had something to offer, you were of sound mind and had no criminal background. Now it is a free for all.
Before welfare people were able to pay their medical bills, welfare and social programs robbed us all and raised prices. Now look at the mess our healthcare is in.
There was a time when criminals were kept in jail, now we are too PC to think anyone deserves such harsh treatment, and now we have rampant crime and gangs in the streets. Now we have "hate crimes" and the thought police.
Our government creates the problems we have. They demand regulation and the result is rising costs. We have plenty of our own oil but because of government kowtowing to liberals the red tape adds costs for development and exploration and of course rising gas prices. Global warming is a huge scam and costs us all money. We are too PC to profile terrorists at our airports or guard our borders. We will pay for this in more than money.
How can we ever expect to get back to the basic government our Constitution set forth? I don't see it. And I fear for our young people that know it should be different. Most I fear though are being and have been indoctrinated by our liberal education system and therefore don't have a clue. Maybe that's a good thing for they won't go screaming into our country's good night. They'll go like sheep to the slaughter, peacefully and dumb.

The Importance of McCain's VP Choice
Who John McCain selects as a Vice Presidential running mate will be crucial to whether he gets the backing of die hard conservatives. Some news pundits are putting up names they say he needs to counter the female factor of Hillary. That's questionable in so many ways.
In my opinion, and as a woman, I don't believe intelligent women pick a candidate solely on their gender. Then again, as a woman I don't know of one that I would like to see run as VP or President.
The names being tossed around for women are Condoleeza Rice, Sarah Palin (Alaska's Governor), and Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina. None of these will do.
I was very unhappy with Rice's dealings regarding Israel and the PLO. Alaska's Governor doesn't have much experience and Dole is a RINO.
I think McCain should pick a younger man to run as VP. The names up for review in the news for a male candidate are Mark Sanford (Governor of South Carolina), Bobby Jindal (Louisiana Governor), Tim Pawlenty (Minnesota's Governor) and Charlie Crist (Florida's Governor). I like Mark Sanford and Bobby Jindal, I don't care for Charlie Crist and don't really know about Tim Pawlenty. I'd have to research Governor Pawlenty if he was chosen.
I don't know that whoever is picked would have much influence if McCain would win but I do believe it would influence the vote come November. Conservatives need some kind of assurance that if anything happens to McCain we have a chance of having someone conservative in place to carry on the next four years and beyond.
A young conservative male would be a good choice. Let's hope he has enough sense to make the correct selection. It's bad enough we have no choice but McCain. The least he could do is reach across his own aisle and choose someone conservative.
My two cents.

Obsessed?
Sorry Hon, I won't believe she's toast and the Clintons are finally gone until I can verify that iron stakes were pounded through their coffins and straight into the ground, had a silver bullet blessed by a priest fired into their hearts, an aspen stake driven through their hearts, were cremated, had holy water poured into their graves and they're buried under running water.
Other than that, I'm not really obsessed, am I?

Besessen
That would be obsessed. It's not that I don't understand Sam's strong dislike for the Clinton's, I do. I don't like them either. Considerable damage was done to our country under Bill Clinton. I'm sure Hillary played a role. I don't like them, and I don't want her to be President.
I am pretty confident that she will not be elected even if she manages to get the nomination from her party. Therefore, I'm not concerned with her. She's going to lose either the nomination or the election, either way, she loses. I'm good with that.
I'm no longer concerned. She'll get her due.
Sam on the other hand cannot leave it alone. He can't see the forest for the trees so to speak. The forest is the Democratic Party and BOTH candidates. The tree is Hillary.
I'll say it again, I am no longer concerned about Hillary. I don't obsess in her humiliation or her come upance as it were. I'm glad, I'm just not obsessed by it.
The problem to concentrate on now is Obama. Obama just might get elected if he wins the nomination, that should be the focus now in my opinion. Hillary is toast. I no longer want to waste my energy on her.
Remember a while back we were so fed up with our choices we were going to chuck it all and catch up on our reading and movies? Helllooooo. Instead it's all Hillary, all the time around here.
Sam doesn't get that I am so glad to be rid of the Clintons that I would appreciate him paying a little less attention to her. I don't need a play by play of her day. Sam dear, do you remember the many, many since the Clintons have been out of office (Presidency) that we would say, "Why don't they just go away already"? Remember that? Well we have an opportunity to be done with them now but you have to quit bringing her up to make her go away.
If I just watch the news and read the internet I can see and hear very little about her, however, at home I can't stop hearing about her.
I understand your obsessesion with her ruination but she's done already. Why can't you be done with her. What happens when she does lose, will you ever be done with her. I want her out of our house for heaven's sake.
Certainly we can find better things to discuss, or read, or watch, or do.... Huh?
Trust me, I understand, I know you, how could I not? I just am sick of hearing about her and I'm surprised you're not.
I love you. Now get over it already! ((Hugs))

The word is schadenfreude.....
meaning taking delight in the misery of others.
I have to admit I'm totally loving seeing Hillary being humiliated and rejected by the voters and being beaten up by the Press and Barak Obama, so much so that Snippy is starting to call Barak "my guy". I disagree 100% with Barak Obama's political views and no way is he "my guy", as a matter of fact I have no one in this Presidential race. I'll give my votes to Conservatives running for Congress an at the State and local level. What Snippy has a hard time understanding is how much I despise Hillary.
How much, you ask? Maybe this will get my feeling of utter hatred of her across.
She's a swine. A vulgar little maggot. A worthless bag of filth. As they say in Texas, I'll bet she couldn't pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel.
She's a canker. A sore that won't go away. I would rather kiss a lawyer than be seen with her. She's a putrescent mass, a walking vomit. She's a spineless little worm deserving nothing but the profoundest contempt. She's a jerk, a cad, a weasel. His life is a monument to stupidity. She's a stench, a revulsion, a big suck on a sour lemon.
She's a bleating foal, a curdled staggering mutant dwarf smeared richly with the effluvia and offal accompanying her alleged birth into this world. An insensate, blinking calf, meaningful to nobody, abandoned by the puke-drooling, giggling beasts who sired her and then killed themselves in recognition of what they had done. I will never get over the embarrassment of belonging to the same species as her. She's a monster, an ogre, a malformity. I barf at the very thought of her.
She has all the appeal of a paper cut. Lepers avoid her. She's vile, worthless, less than nothing. She's a weed, a fungus, the dregs of this earth.
She's a snail-skulled little rabbit. Would that a hawk pick her up, drive its beak into her brain, and upon finding it rancid set her loose to fly briefly before spattering the ocean rocks with the frothy pink shame of her ignoble blood.
May she choke on the queasy, convulsing nausea of her own trite, foolish beliefs. She's grimy, squalid, nasty and profane. She's foul and disgusting. She's a fool, an ignoramus. Monkeys look down on her. Even sheep won't have sex with her.
She's unreservedly pathetic, starved for attention, and lost in a land that reality forgot. And what meaning does she expect her delusionally self-important statements of unknowing, inexperienced opinion have to us? What fantasy does she hold that she would believe that her tiny-fisted tantrums would have more weight than that of a leprous desert rat, spinning rabidly in a circle, waiting for the bite of the snake.
She's a waste of flesh. She's ridiculous and obnoxious. She's the moral equivalent of a leech. She's a living emptiness, a meaningless void. She's sour and senile. She's a disease, a puerile, one-handed, slack-jawed, drooling, meatslapper. On a good day she's a half-wit. She reminds me of drool.
She's deficient in all that lends character. She has the personality of wallpaper. She's dank and filthy. She's asinine and benighted. She's the source of all unpleasantness. She spreads misery and sorrow wherever she goes. She's a smarmy lagerlout git. She's a clouted boggish foot-licking twit.
She's a fiend and a coward. She's a degenerate, noxious and depraved. I feel debased just for knowing she exists. I despise everything about her, and I wish she would go away.
I cannot believe how incredibly stupid she is. I mean rock-hard stupid. Dehydrated-rock-hard stupid. Stupid, so stupid it goes way beyond the stupid we know into a whole different dimension of stupid. She's trans-stupid stupid. Meta-stupid. Stupid collapsed on itself so far that even the neutrons have collapsed. Stupid gotten so dense that no intellect can escape. Singularity stupid. Blazing hot mid-day sun on Mercury stupid. She emits more stupid in one second than our entire galaxy emits in a year. Quasar stupid. Nothing in our universe can really be that stupid. Perhaps this is some primordial fragment from the original big bang of stupid. Some pure essence of a stupid so uncontaminated by anything else as to be beyond the laws of physics that we know. I'm sorry. I can't go on. This is an epiphany of stupid for me.
I don't have enough strength left to deride her ignorant, half baked comments about unimportant trivia, or any of the rest of her drivel.

Nothing To See Here, Move Along
Ricin can be extremely lethal. As little as 500 micrograms, or about the size of the head of a pin, can kill a human, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Web site.
The Story as of 2.29.2008:
A man who stayed in a Las Vegas hotel room where ricin was found is in critical condition at a hospital, where he has been since mid-February.
Since he was gone from the extended-stay hotel and not paying his rent, managers began eviction procedures.
Tests confirm the substance found in the room was ricin, police said, but it remains a mystery how it got there. The man hospitalized was not a suspect and police don't know whether the ricin was his, or if he even knew it was there.
The FBI said it was treating the matter as a criminal investigation and terrorism was not suspected.
The discovery of ricin alarms law-enforcement agencies because authorities in several countries have investigated links between suspect extremists and ricin.
Las Vegas police said there was no apparent link to terrorist activity, and no indication of any spread of the deadly substance beyond the several vials of powder found in a plastic bag in the man's room on Thursday. But what the ricin was doing there remained a mystery.
The man, believed to be in his 40s or 50s, was unconscious and unable to speak. Authorities don't know an awful lot about him.
The motel room had been unoccupied since the man was hospitalized. Someone who knew the sick man found the ricin in the room and brought it to the apartment manager.
He claimed to be a relative. Authorities haven't confirmed that yet whether he is a relative or a friend".
Pets were found in the room. Two of those pets are fine. One of the pets is deceased. There was no evidence that the animal died from ricin exposure. The dog that was in there was without food and water for a week.
The man was unable to speak to police, but a doctor at the briefing said he held out hope the man might recover enough to provide information.
Comment:
Now I ask you, just what was a man (who authorities can't or won't identify) doing with ricin and the beans to make them in an extended stay motel? Making tea? They quickly add, not knowing all the facts, that it isn't terrorism. Well if they don't know why the ricin was there or what it was for and it is a known deadly poison not readily available, how can they rule out terrorism?
This is the "Nanny State" in action is what it is. Our government wouldn't want it's people getting all worried or fired up about terrorism. They're afraid we'd stop spending money on frivilous things and start buying firearms or stockpiling food for heaven's sake. Can't have that.
Nothing to see here, move along.
To be sure the television news media is barely covering the story. If it weren't for the internet the story would soon die out. Thankfully most folks get their news from the internet nowadays.
Sure, others may only know what is happening on American Idol but to you terrorist out there, not all of America is asleep.
Stay safe, and never forget 9.11, stay prepared, have a plan and have a back up plan.
