A New Direction for America

In "The Anointed One's" Own Words

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you'll join me as we try to change it."

"I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

"I found solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother’s race."

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

"I learned to slip back and forth between my black and white worlds. One of those tricks I had learned: People were satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves. They were more than satisfied; they were relieved -- such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn't seem angry all the time."

"I had learned not to care. I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though. ..."

"...I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby."

"I can no more disown (Jeremiah Wright) than I can disown the black community." --UPDATE: Barack Obama decides to "disown" him on Tuesday, April 29th after he realized his campaign was in severe turmoil due to his association with Mr. Wright.

"The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn't. But she is a typical white person..."

"That’s just how white folks will do you."

"You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

"We need somebody who's got the heart, the empathy, to recognize what it's like to be a young teenage mom, the empathy to understand what it's like to be poor or African-American or gay or disabled or old - and that's the criterion by which I'll be selecting my judges."

Call to Islamic prayer is “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.”

Barack Hussein Obama

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
Abraham Lincoln, (attributed)
16th president of US (1809 - 1865)

58,343,671 people weren't fooled.

For the first time in my adult life, I am ashamed of my country.

I never thought I'd live to see this day, not in America.

President and Vice President of these United States - McCain / Palin

To save ourselves from socialism, we must not let the communists in this country elect Barack Hussein Obama. For those of us who believe in our Constitution and are grateful to our Founding Fathers for their wisdom we must believe as they believed, in Providence, we must not fail. Pray and fast that our nation not be led further down the path of destruction.

We're voting for Sarah!

Sarah Palin Introduction

Obama's Glass Ceiling Repair Squad

The term glass ceiling refers to situations where the advancement of a qualified person within the hierarchy of an organization is stopped at a lower level because of some form of discrimination, most commonly sexism or racism, but since the term was coined, "glass ceiling" has also come to describe the limited advancement of the deaf, blind, disabled, aged and sexual minorities.

This situation is referred to as a "ceiling" as there is a limitation blocking upward advancement, and "glass" (transparent) because the limitation is not immediately apparent and is normally an unwritten and unofficial policy. The "glass ceiling" is distinguished from formal barriers to advancement, such as education or experience requirements.

How ironic is it that the political party and the woman who claimed to have made 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling of the Oval Office is now sending out their women, Governors Janet Napolitano of Arizona, Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas and Senator Hillary Clinton to patch it up and make sure it doesn't get broken, now that a Conservative woman, Governor Sarah Palin has a very good change of breaking it?

I guess only Liberal women, who ride their husband's coat tails into a position of power are to be allowed to break that ceiling and not a woman who has actually accomplished things on her own.

Vote for Governor Sarah Palin

Okay, maybe I was having trouble voting for McCain. It was becoming a necessity just so Obama the Marxist wouldn't get elected. Then things started to change.

The Saddleback Church forum was held and McCain showed his superior experience over Obama the non-thinker. McCain was comfortable and answered the questions with honesty and without hesitation. Obama said uh, uh, uh, um, uh. It was obvious he was trying to think how he could please all the people, all the time.

I was worried John McCain's performance was too good to be true, then the ads started coming. Good, strong, aggressive ads, the ones we all thought he wouldn't do. I was becoming impressed.

Yes, I knew and worried that we had huge differences. I wish McCain would take a stronger stance against illegal immigration and I wish he didn't buy into the "global warming" propaganda as he does. There are other issues we disagree on. Yet and still, I knew that it would be disastrous for America to have a socialist like Obama in office. We hoped for a conservative VP selection.

I wrote an earlier blog about how important McCain's VP choice was going to be for conservatives.

We watched and waited and by golly he came through for us. Alaska's Governor Sarah Palin is a perfect choice. Immediately the far right was beaming and cheering. Finally, a conservative on the ticket. Now we will vote McCain/Palin.

Good move John, you've disappointed us in the past and probably will in the future but this pick has brought us joy and hope. This is a woman both my husband and I can vote for.
